Ectropion and Entropion are conditions in which the eyelid margin can sag and subsequently rotate outward or inward. If rotated outward, the lower inner eyelid tissue may become dry and inflamed from exposure. If rotated inward, it may cause a misdirection of the lower eyelashes towards the eyeball, which can subsequently irritate the eye. These conditions can be treated with outpatient surgeries that tighten and rotate the lower eyelid back into its normal anatomic position.
